Stop Smoking Support
We run NHS Stop Smoking Clinics
from the pharmacy. In addition to offering advice on stopping smoking, our
trained staff can advise on a wide range of nicotine replacement products which
may also help, including nicotine patches and gum. These medications can be
provided directly from the pharmacy on the NHS without having to see your doctor
for a prescription, so if you do not normally pay for your prescriptions you
can obtain them free of charge. If you do pay for your prescriptions you can
obtain them at a price that is much reduced compared to buying them “over the
counter”. It has been proven that this combination of behavioral support AND
nicotine replacement medication can significantly increase your chances of
giving up smoking. We provide drop-in NHS stop smoking clinics, so often no
appointment is needed. “Don’t give up on giving up”.

Minor Ailments Schemes
Many Primary Care Trusts (also
known as local health authorities) now run Minor Ailments Schemes where by you
can obtain certain medications for certain conditions directly from the
pharmacy, on the NHS, without having to see the doctor. Ask our pharmacist
about how this scheme works in your area.
Medicine Usage Review Service
If you are taking several
different medicines we may be able to offer you a medicines review. We will be
able to sit down and discuss any problems you may be having taking your
medicines and answer any questions you may have. Please ask the pharmacist for
more information about this service.
We aim to give you the best possible service but if you have a complaint please
speak to the pharmacist in charge as soon as you can. The matter will be
handled in line with the NHS complaints procedure. If we cannot resolve the
problem or you do not want to raise it directly with us, you can contact your
local primary care organization.
Our Confidential Patient medication Record System
We keep a confidential
record of the medicines we supply to you. Please ask the pharmacist if you
require more information about this service. We are registered under the Data
Protection Act.
