Y-STR Male Lineage DNA Test

Y-STR Male Lineage DNA Test can be used to provide accurate results determining whether or not two or more males are biologically related through family blood line. The Y chromosome which is passed through father to son, rarely changes, therefore remains the same through generations.

The focal point of this DNA test is the Y chromosome, resulting in a unique Y-STR profile for each male tested. It is important to note that this DNA test will not distinguish men that are in the same blood line.

One example for the use of this DNA is when two males with different mothers want to know if they share the same biological father. If both males have the same Y-STR DNA profile, it is practically proven that they have the same father. However if the Y-STR profile do not match, then they do not share the same biological father. This is just one example of how this DNA test can be used.

TIMEFRAME: 4 working days after the laboratory receives the mouth swabs.
